"We have lived in the Village of Mettawa for many years. Our three children went to Rondout school. We were attracted to Mettawa because of the rural environment. When our children were small, they had cats, a dog, rabbits, a horse and we had a vegetable garden - and that is still possible today".

This resident service is provided in addition to the coverage provided by the Lake County Sheriff's department. The Mettawa Security vehicle is easily identifiable by the Mettawa Public Safety logo visible on the white pick-up truck. If you would like to have your house checked while you are out our town, please contact Mettawa Public Safety for this service. Mettawa is dedicated to the protection and security of all residents and, in partnership with the Lake County Sheriff's department, to providing quality public safety services. Lake County Sheriff's DepartmentThe Village has an emergency services agreement with the Lake County Sheriff's Department. Calls made to 911 will result in a response from the Sheriff's Department. The Department also responds to automatic alarms, traffic accidents and crime incidents in our residential and commercial areas. While the Sheriff's Deputies do not provide routine patrol in the Village, they are nearby serving the unincorporated areas in southeast Lake County. John D. There is no collection on national holidays. When collection falls on one of these holidays, collections are delayed by one day. LRS Snow and Ice ControlMettawa salts and plows all Village owned roads so that residents can travel safely and easily during the winter months when driving tends to be most hazardous. The implementation of one of several plowing scenarios is determined by the amount of snow and ice forecast and the duration of the storm. The goal is to have all areas plowed in a timely manner so that residents and business owners are not delayed in their travels. |
